So, the time is coming!
I’m glad to show you a sample from one of the tutorials I’ve been working on during the past weeks.
There are 2 previous parts of this same chapter that goes through the very basics for setting up our mesh for sculpting, and the use of each of the sculpt tools, in this part I decided to use all this tools explained before, plus some extra brushes, and show part of the workflow when sculpting.
Please, consider downloading it as well, I’d like to make sure that everybody is able to play dual audio tracks, which is the format the final videos will use.

Codec is H264 and MP3 (encoded with mencoder x264), it plays fine on VLC here on both GNU/Linux and Mac, couldn’t try Windows yet, you should listen to the ugly English accent of mine, which is default language, you can switch the Audio track from the Audio menu, Track 01 (English) or Track 02 (Spanish).
No subtitles for this chapter yet, since there are plenty to subtitle and I did this tutorial not long ago.
So that’s it!, feedback is much appreciated, please.

Se acerca la hora!
Un placer poder mostrarles una muestra de uno de los tutoriales en los que estuve trabajando en las últimas semanas.
(según Vimeo todavía esta procesandose el video, puedes bajarlo desde aquí o leyendo mas abajo)
(esta versión no es HD ya que Vimeo te deja subir sólo 1 video en alta definición por semana, y primero subí la versión en inglés =/ lo siento, pero puedes descargarlo! ver abajo)
Las primeras 2 partes del capítulo están dedicadas a recorrer desde la preparación básica a la hora de esculpir, como cada una de sus herramientas mostradas y explicadas una por una, mientras que ésta parte quise mostrar más acerca de el flujo de trabajo y el uso de distintos pinceles a la hora de esculpir.
Por favor considera descargar el video también, me gustaría estar seguro que todo el mundo es capaz de reproducir un video con dos canales de audio sin problemas (el 2do canal es Español), ya que es el formato que los videos del DVD utilizarán.

El códec es H264 y MP3 (usando mencoder x264), se reproduce correctamente en VLC aquí en ambos GNU/Linux y Mac, todavía no pude probar Windows, al reproducirlo deberían oir mi horrible acento inglés, que es el idioma por defecto, pero pueden cambiarlo desde el menú Audio y allí elegir los tracks (pistas), Track o Pista número 1 (Inglés), o número 2 (Español).
No hay subtítulos todavía para este capítulo, ya que hay muuuucho trabajo por delante para traducir, y este tutorial lo hice hace no mucho tiempo.
Eso es!, criticas/sugerencias son muy apreciadas, por favor.
Si son lo suficientemente buenos conmigo, les tengo una sorpresa para el fin de esta semana!

me baje lo que pude hasta que se cayó la descarga. pero lo abrí en vlc y efectivamente estan las dos pistas de audio! se ve muy bien el tutorial! congrats!!!

Thanks a lot Cris!, is the volume like too low? or just a little? I actually like low volume because you can raise it all what you want, but when it is too loud then it becomes a bit harder to lower it or take away the noise.

I tried the tutorial yesterday evening with my non-amplified headphones, directly from the output of my soundcard. But, as you said, with an amplified speaker you can easily raise the volume
If nobody has encountered this problem, maybe i’ve to buy a new headphones!

Hi, Pablo! Firstly, thanks so much for sharing this useful tut! One of the best sculpts ever. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you achieve such details with only a Multires level of 3 and 4? Did you use subsurf modifiers alongside? Or did you originally have a dense mesh? Thanks.

Hi Reyn!, thanks for passing by.
In parts 1 and 2 from this chapter, I modeled the “tentacle” with a curve (converted to mesh afterwards), then used the resolution values of it until I got a sorta dense mesh, but not that much, you can see the amount of faces on the top header next to the Blender url.

Awesome! I’m sooo glad I pre-ordered this one! I know you expressed concern about your accent. It’s fine. Completely understandable. The only word I heard you mis-pronounce was “anchor”, which typically is pronounced “ang-Kor”.

I appreciate it, honestly I think it was the first time I ever said the word “anchor”, I should have looked up online how to spell the word before starting to make the tutorial, but I completely forgot and as said it was the first time I said that word (I’ve been talking english regularly since only a year, so lotsa words still don’t even know how to pronounce them).

Thanks!, I also wish it was that day, but is getting close now! just a little bit more, the more time I spend on it the more polished the DVD will be! and hopefully not have to make too many “fixes” online, since I want to deliver on the DVD all I can, and not have people to rely on internet for “extra” stuff.

Estupenda sorpresa, me ha alegrado el día y sirve como aperitivo mientras esperamos el DVD.
Te comento, en Windows y Linux el video me va sin problemas, todo perfecto y se puede seleccionar el audio que queremos oir. En el mac, si lo abrimos con quicktime pide instalación de software adicional para poder reproducirlo, pero con el VCL para mac OSX va perfecto también.
Resumiendo, perfecto en los tres sistemas usando VCL. El tutorial : increible, muy bueno y muy util. Gracias por esta pequeña sorpresa.
Te agradezco mucho el reporte dsr!, ya puedo confiar en VLC para todas las plataformas entonces, incluire el reproductor en el DVD.

Lo probe en windows y anduvieron bien los dos idiomas, aunque fallo un par de veces el link de descarga. Realmente no pense q iba a quedar tan bien, tenes talento pra enseñar jajaj la verdad q me parece q va a ser el mejor DVD hasta ahora, por los temas q abarca y lo bien explicado q esta.

Gracias Fumi!, todavia estoy viendo el tema de los subtitulos, lo mas probable es que los haga disponibles online, asi todos pueden tener acceso y traducir en cuantos idiomas sea posible.

download works fine in VLC, clear stereo audio, video track is excellent, and the education is effective too. dialogue is easily understandable, and charming too.

i just downloaded the sculpting tool demo it was perfect and clearly understandable you just unlocked so many things especially the image textures i did not even know that we can actually rotate image textures like that

Hey man, ya se que es un doble comentario, de antemano para felicitarte de nuevo, estuve leyendo el “about” y me impresiono bastante que aunque no has ido a la universidad tienes tanto conocimiento practico en el diseño 3D y entre otras cosas imagino, cosa que da animos y no es por menospreciar a nadie, solo que por ejemplo en mi caso no tengo los recursos monetarios para estudar algo como diseño 3D, y me da como decirlo… “esperanza” xD para continuar esmerandome aunque soy un poco tosco para aprender jaja, seria bueno que dieras algunos consejillos ya que tu has pasado todo y aun asi estas ahi y con vivos conocimientos y este video es una prueba de ello, saludos de nuevo y que tengas exito man!
